Specialist CAMHS Practitioner – Systemic Integrative Treatment Service (Maternity Cover)
Contract: Fixed Term / Maternity Cover
Salary: £42,630 pa
Hours: 35 hours per week with daily 30 min unpaid lunch break. Out-of-hours and rotated on-call is required.
Location: Brandon Centre is based in Kentish Town. However, you will be required to work remotely and in the community across 2-3 London boroughs.
Reports to_SIT Service Lead
Accountability: You shall be accountable to the Council of Management of Brandon Centre through the Head of Mental Health and your work will be line-managed by the Service Lead for the SIT service.
Main duties of the job
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, creative and resilient practitioner who has a track record of excellent clinical skills to join our Systemic Integrative Treatment team (SIT). You will provide SIT in the community for parents and carers of children aged 8-16, displaying moderate to severe behavioural difficulties, such as offending, school refusal and harmful sexual behaviour. You will work within a social-ecological model, drawing on a range of therapeutic modalities including pragmatic family therapies, behavioural therapy, CBT, and other therapies as appropriate.
We are looking for experienced practitioners who share our passion for delivering intensive treatment to keep young people at home, in education and out of the criminal justice system. We are particularly interested in those who have experience working to address behaviour across multiple systems including family, peers, school and community. In addition, they should demonstrate knowledge and experience in assessment, treatment delivery, and risk management.
You will have the opportunity to join a supportive and friendly team. Weekly group supervision and intensive training in the SIT model will be provided. Applications from newly qualified practitioners with relevant previous experience are welcome.

Clinical Trustee x 2 positions. Ref: CT/BC
As a Trustee with clinical experience gained through your current/past work as, for example, a GP, Consultant, Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Social Worker, Nurse with knowledge of community & primary care, or a mental health and wellbeing worker, you will work closely with our Head of Mental Health and the CEO, providing support and advice on clinical matters.
Main purpose of the role
The Clinical Trustee’s role is to lead the Board in carrying out its responsibility of ensuring Brandon Centre’s Clinical Services are delivered to the highest quality and safety standards and you will be:
- an active member and support the work of the Quality, Safety & Risk Committee
- maintain knowledge of relevant current legislation affecting activities within the charitable sector
Specific duties
The Clinical Trustee will bring relevant and up-to-date clinical expertise to our Board of Trustees and will provide overall leadership and direction for our clinical services including:
- understanding and presenting clinical reports to the Board in a format that helps the Board of Trustees understand the charity’s clinical position and key areas requiring Board focus
- advising the Board about its clinical contracted and regulated responsibilities
- building a close working relationship with Brandon Centre clinicians and services through regular Trustee visits, discussions and workshops where relevant
- participating actively in the Quality, Safety & Risk Committee and providing Trustee guidance in, and scrutiny of, clinical performance reports, policies and findings
Skills & experience required
We are interested in meeting applicants with most or all of the following:
- a clinical background, ideally currently working as a GP/Consultant, Psychologist/Psychotherapist, Social Worker, Nurse with knowledge of community & primary care, or mental health and wellbeing worker

Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) Trustee. Ref: EDI/BC – Appointed!
With experience in developing an organisational culture committed to and respectful of equity, diversity and inclusion.
The ED&I Trustee will provide support and advice on ED&I matters and will work in close cooperation with Brandon Centre’s Head of People and CEO.
Main purpose of the role
The ED&I Trustee will monitor all matters relating to ED&I at Brandon Centre, reporting to the Board of Trustees and the People Committee at regular intervals.
The ED&I Trustee will also:
- be an active member and support the work of the People Committee
- maintain knowledge of relevant current legislation and best practices affecting equity, diversity and inclusion within the workplace.
Specific duties
The ED&I Trustee will bring relevant and up-to-date expertise to our Board of Trustees and will provide overall leadership and direction for ED&I within Brandon Centre, including:
- overseeing the development and implementation of Brandon Centre’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) strategy
- working with the People team, Senior Team, the People Committee and Young People’s Leadership Board to oversee the implementation of the strategy, drive cultural change, and ensure services are inclusive and reflect the current and future needs of young people and families from all backgrounds, especially under-represented groups
- ensuring Brandon Centre services are shaped by data, qualitative and quantitative feedback, and assessment of young people and families’ needs
- overseeing the development and set up of the ED&I working group and chairing meetings of the group (made up of staff and Young Ambassadors with specific knowledge or experience of protected or under-represented characteristics), ensuring actions are completed in a timely manner
- contributing to relevant funding bids and grant applications as required
- helping Brandon Centre to develop opportunities for volunteers and ambassadors from under-represented backgrounds

Fundraising Trustee. Ref: FT/BC
We’re looking for a Trustee with a business development, fundraising and communications background and with a sound understanding and substantial experience of charity fundraising at both strategic and operational levels.
The Fundraising Trustee will provide overall Trustee leadership and drive for our fundraising, events, marketing, and communications, and will be supported very closely by the Chair of the Business Development and Fundraising Committee, CEO, Head of Finance, and our Business Development Manager.
Main purpose of the role
To ensure Brandon Centre is in the best possible position to develop and deliver our fundraising, marketing, and communications by providing strategic guidance and support in the following areas:
- maintaining strong relationships with existing donors and supporters
- progressing new grant sources and fundraising opportunities
- developing and monitoring a fundraising plan aligned with budget requirements
- submitting and monitoring fundraising progress reports and evaluation requirements in accordance with the Fundraising Policy
The Fundraising Trustee will also:
- be an active member and support the work of the Business Development and Fundraising Committee
- maintain knowledge of current fundraising procedures and legislation affecting activities within the charitable sector
- be a member of Brandon Centre’s Board of Trustees
Specific duties
- To develop and implement a system to increase income:
- provide regular information to Trustees and the Brandon Centre Board’s Fundraising Committee about funding possibilities and opportunities
- work with the Trustees, Fundraising Committee, and other members of the Brandon Centre Board to create clear and realistic targets
- provide information and support for grant applications and subsequent monitoring and evaluation reporting
- support the promotion of Gift Aid reclaims amongst fundraisers for the Brandon Centre Board
- To contribute to fundraising events:
- support and attend new and existing events when required
- work with the Fundraising Committee and supporting organisations to develop new fundraising events
- a commitment to supporting Brandon Centre to increase our income through a calendar of fundraising events and business development

Honorary Treasurer. Ref: HT/BC
Brandon Centre has an opening for a qualified finance professional to join our Board of Trustees as Honorary Treasurer.
The Treasurer will work in close cooperation with the Head of Finance, an experienced qualified accountant, and the CEO, providing support and advice on financial matters.
Main purpose of the role
The Treasurer will monitor the financial matters of the charity and report to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation, in line with good practice and in accordance with the governing document and legal requirements.
The Treasurer will also:
- chair, be an active member, and support the work of the Finance Committee
- maintain knowledge of current financial procedures and legislation affecting activities within the charitable sector
- be a member of Brandon Centre’s Board of Trustees
Specific duties
- Guide and advise the Board of Trustees in the approval of budgets, accounts, and financial statements, within the relevant financial policy framework.
- Keep the Board informed about its financial duties and responsibilities.
- Advise the Trustees on the financial implications of the organisation’s strategic plans and key assumptions included in operational plans and the annual budget.
- Confirm that the financial resources of the organisation meet its present and future needs and that there is an appropriate reserves policy.
- Ensure the accounting procedures and key internal controls are sufficiently robust to assure the Board that the charity’s financial integrity is sound.
- Ensure the accounts are prepared and disclosed in the form required by funders and the relevant statutory bodies, e.g. the Charity Commission and the registrar of companies, ensuring they are properly audited and that accepted recommendations of the auditors are implemented.
- Ensure equipment and assets are adequately maintained and insured and that the organisation has adequate insurance.
- When applicable, monitor the organisation’s investment activity and ensure its investment policy is consistent with the organisation’s policies, aims, objectives and legal responsibilities.
- Provide guidance to the Finance team if financial issues arise.
Skills & experience required

For each of these Trustee roles, your expected commitment will be:
- Attendance of quarterly Trustee meetings (typically 2 hours).
- Revision of year-end financial report for AGM.
- Attendance of quarterly Finance Committee meetings (typically 2 hours).
- Ad-hoc support on financial matters.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly innovative project delivering and providing an integrated holistic health and wellbeing support service for 16-24 year olds within the borough of Camden. You will be working as part of a team to make a real difference to young people.
