At Brandon Centre, we believe in meeting young people where they feel most comfortable and supported, which is why we collaborate with various youth hubs across Camden and Islington.

These hubs provide a welcoming and familiar environment for young people, and our goal is to offer mental health support in spaces they already trust and engage with. Our outreach work allows us to extend our therapeutic services beyond our centre, making it easier for young people to access the help they need.

Our Key Youth Hub Partnerships

Lift (Islington)

For several years, we have been delivering counselling and psychotherapy sessions at Lift, a vibrant youth hub in Islington. Lift is a place where young people can access not only therapy from Brandon Centre but also a wide range of holistic services such as fitness programmes, targeted wellbeing services, career support, and creative workshops. By providing mental health services at Lift, we ensure that young people can seek help in a space they already associate with positive activities and support.

Collective Theatre (formerly Platform Youth Hub; Islington)

We also deliver counselling and psychotherapy services for young people at Collective Theatre (formerly Platform Youth Hub) in Islington. Collective Theatre is the home of Collective Acting Studio, a drama school which specialises in providing actor-training for students from underrepresented groups. Our collaboration with Collective Acting Studio has allowed us to continue to serve the community in the north of Islington, giving young people more choice about where they can be supported.

Minding the Gap and The Hive (Camden)

Brandon Centre is a founding partner organisation of Minding the Gap and The Hive in Camden. Minding the Gap is a collaboration between the local NHS mental health trusts and voluntary sector mental health and youth service providers. There are three pillars to Minding the Gap:

  1. Brandon Centre’s Counselling and Psychotherapy Service for Young People
  2. The Hive (Youth Hub)
  3. Minding the Gap Transitions Meeting

These three pillars ensure that young people don’t fall between the gaps in service provision, particularly when transitioning from child and adolescent to adult mental health services. The Hive is an innovative, therapeutically informed, youth hub in Camden led by the national charity Catch 22. It is delivered by a consortium of NHS and voluntary sector providers including Brandon Centre, Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust, the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, the Winch, and Fitzrovia Youth in Action.

The Winch (Camden)

In partnership with The Winch, a well-established Camden charity that has been serving young people since 1973, we deliver art psychotherapy sessions. Funded by The Pixel Fund, our art therapy programme provides a creative and non-verbal approach to exploring feelings and experiences. Young people use the creative process to express emotions they may find difficult to put into words, helping them gain new perspectives on their mental health and personal challenges.
