At Brandon Centre, we are committed to empowering parents and caregivers to play an active role in shaping the mental health services that support their families. Our Parent Ambassadors programme and the newly established Parent Advisory Committee offer meaningful opportunities for parents to engage, share insights, and contribute to the development of our services.
Parent Advisory Committee
We recently launched the Parent Advisory Committee to strengthen parent engagement and provide a platform for parents who have participated in our parenting programs or received support from Brandon Centre’s Specialist Intervention Team (BC-SIT).
This committee serves as a space for parents to share their experiences, offer valuable feedback, and help us continuously improve the support we provide.
Parent Carer Peer Support
Thanks to the generous support of the Charlie Waller Trust, we have been able to take this parent engagement even further. With their funding, we have successfully trained two parents as Parent Carer Peer Support Workers, equipping them with the skills to provide peer support to other parents and carers within the community. These Parent Carer Peer Support Workers will receive ongoing supervision, fostering their growth and effectiveness.
