In 2021, Emma completed the NHS Leadership Academy Management Training Scheme, which included commissioning and project management in primary and secondary care, and service management at University College London Hospital. As part of the NHS scheme, Emma completed a Flexi Placement at Brandon Centre to bring learning and reflections back to her NHS work.
Emma completed a master’s in Healthcare Leadership as part of her training which included patient experience, strengthening leadership practice, collaboration, change, impact and resilience.
Emma enjoyed Brandon Centre’s openness, flexibility, and leadership development and decided to join us permanently after completing her Flexi Placement.
Emma started off as the Service Manager for our Sexual Health clinic before moving into the role of Business Development Manager in 2022. Her work includes strategy development, bidding for funding and grants, building partnerships, running fundraising events, managing corporate partnerships and relationships, and service-specific development and operational management. In 2024, Emma moved into her current role as Head of Business Development and Partnerships.
“The team at Brandon Centre delivers vital services to young people in an accessible and welcoming way. Mental health is close to my heart and I want to help make a difference. The more funding I can bring in, the more services and support we can provide,” says Emma.
When she’s not working, Emma can often be found enjoying the theatre in the West End, cooking or travelling abroad. “My dream is to complete 30 countries by 30 years old!”
