BWell coaching comprises of one-to-one and group coaching sessions supporting 12 to 25-year-olds to improve their emotional wellbeing

Available Monday to Friday to help young people deal with challenges that are impacting their day-to-day life, including low confidence and self-esteem, irregular sleep, relationship challenges, exam stress, or social anxiety.

It can be hard to concentrate on work after a bad night’s sleep, to maintain healthy relationships when your self-esteem needs a boost, or to get through a long list of tasks without the right skills.

BWell believes that every young person has the tools they need to manage their emotional challenges.

The coaching sessions help them gain resilience and understanding by setting specific goals and identifying the internal resources they need to achieve them.

What does BWell offer?

Up to 4 coaching sessions lasting 45 minutes. Available Monday to Friday to help young people deal with challenges that are impacting their day-to-day life. These might be low confidence and self-esteem, irregular sleep, relationship challenges, exam stress, or social anxiety.

Who is it for?

Young people between the ages of 12 and 25 living in Camden or Islington. Over-16s can contact us directly about coaching sessions. For 12 to 15-year-olds, we run sessions within schools in collaboration with the school’s wellbeing service. Contact us here for a chat about what’s available.

How does the coaching work?

The sessions are non-judgmental and supportive. We explore and challenge habits and beliefs that can inhibit positive change. Focusing on solutions rather than problems, we set one or two specific goals and encourage young people to work on them outside of their sessions. We evaluate progress at the end of each session.

Is it online or face to face?

Whichever suits the young person best. We run sessions in person, over the phone, online via video call, or through a combination of these options.

What’s different about BWell?

BWell coaching is unique to Brandon Centre. We provide immediate support to young people, giving them a safe space to discover positive things about themselves. There are no long waiting lists and coaches are available with diverse ethnicities, backgrounds, languages, and genders.

What are the benefits of BWell coaching?

Young people come away feeling empowered, having a greater sense of who they are and what they can achieve. They discover how to resolve their own issues in a less complicated way. They finish with a sense of direction, knowing that they can seek out support whenever they need it.

What happens afterwards?

Towards the end of the sessions, we help the young person establish a clear idea of what their next steps will be and let them know what support is available to them. If we believe a young person needs a higher level of care, Brandon Centre has the in-house expertise to make sure they get the appropriate support.

We also run a Young People’s Progression Programme including volunteering and mentoring opportunities for those interested.

Neil Lawrence – Lead BWell Coach

Neil is an accredited wellbeing coach and has worked in the field of wellbeing for 29 years, in education, business and the charity sector. He believes strongly in the coaching process as a key to providing positive wellbeing and to support young people in their discovery of personal strengths. He is direct, compassionate, and committed to the idea of making change through being kind to oneself and to others.

Neil is a Practitioner level coach accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council.

Our BWell team is also available to talk in schools and provide general wellbeing information and resources.

BWell is currently funded by the National Lottery Community Fund – Reaching Communities England programme and will be independently evaluated by the Salomon’s institute for applied psychology (Canterbury Christ Church University).
